    Default Needs some input???

About a year or year and half ago, bought 2 Ozark 10 ft. rear seated rods - this was after several people on here recommended them. I don't know whether we have had just bad luck or the product is a bit inferior. First mishap occurred about 3 months ago - I caught a crappie that weighed no more than a pound and the rod cracked about 2 feet below the rod tip. It broke when I set the hook on the fish. That rod was purchased at Cabelas in Rogers and they were good enough to replace it even without a receipt. Today the other Ozark rod cracked just above the handle- this was not from abuse - my wife was slightly catching a shell cracker that might have weighed a pound. The last rod was not purchased at Cabelas. We really like the sensitivity and weight of the Ozark rods but do not know about the durability. Do not have much recourse with this rod because can not remember where purchased. Again, need some recommendations.

i have abused my ozarks and have had good luck with em, i did however snap one dead lifting in a 5lb + drum , what i dont like about the new ones is they have gone back to cheap tips with inserts and i knocked one out while punching a jig from a pile over the weekend , my have to go back to the BnM , they are slightly cheaper and just as good a rod now that ozark has changed owners and the quality of their rods!

I had a couple of the rear seat 10 foot Ozarks for about a year and a half. I decided that they were too whippy for my liking, and have since replaced them with a B&M Bucks Ultimate, and a Duck Commander Double Touch. As for the quality of the rods, they were top notch. Only time I broke one was when I shut my truck door on the tip. I took it to the guy I bought it from and explained what happened, and he replaced it FOR FREE!!! I also have an 11ft Ozark that I use for dipping trees, and let me tell you, that thing is a BEAST!! You wont find a stouter rod, and it is tough as nails. I'm not sure about the quality of the rods since Ozark changed hands, but if it is the same, you can't go wrong. Unfortunately, it sounds like the quality may NOT be the same.

I bought a 12' Ozark pole this spring, and I had 8 pound test line onl, which was getting a little rough close the hook, I caught a nice crappie an lifted in the boat with the rod, and the line broke, then that sent a whip-lash up the pole an broke a foot off the end of the pole, now I am trying to find a complete rod tip for that rod, and so far I'm not having any luck coming up with one.

associated farmers co-op in conway off Dave Ward Dr had some replacement tips for ozark rods , might give them a call and see if they still have any , all i saw was for 10 and 11 ftrs though , that was a few months ago

I am as tough as anyone on jig poles. I have a 12' and (4) 11' Ozark forward seat rods . Been using Ozarks for about 4 years with never a problem and guided lots of folks using mine too!. I seldom use a landing net either. Quit the B-n-M Bucks jig poles because they were terriable about breaking !

It's all about what you feel comfortable with, there are pros and cons with all rods, personally i like B&M rods and my duck commander double touch rod. The thing i found is sometimes when catching big crappie the rods are a little whipy at the tips but once you get the feel of them lookout putem in the boat.

I have 2 - 11 ft forward seat Ozarks I bought last year and love them. I am not gentle with mine and they are holding well!

I've got 2 Ozark rods and I rarely use them. My main rod is a 12 foot Grizzly Elite. I'm not afraid to swing a fish in the boat and I am not gentle with the rod. I fish a lot of lily pads and am constantly jabbing the tip into the jig when hung in a stem.
Don't know where you live but I would sell you my 10' Ozark if you are not to far.
