Thread: Sharing The Gift Of The Thump With My Fishing Mentor

I had the pleasure to return a favor to my favorite uncle, for all that he has done to get me interested in hunting an fishing as a kid. I took my Uncle Dan to my favorite lake, Conway, for some good ole fish catching. While my Uncle is one of the best creek anglers that I know, he has never owned a motorized boat, just canoes. So he has never really targeted crappie. Last Fall I took him to Atkins for a taste of crappie fishing, with the promise that I would take him to Conway. Saturday my Son and I took him out and for a few hours and we managed 4 good ones and a dozen good bluegill before Jacob was done. Today I took my Uncle by himself as we managed a decent mess with a couple of good ones in the mix. When the wind picked up we searched for brim beds and found a few. We didn't kill them but my Uncle is hooked! He can't wait to come bak to Conway!

I told him to work on the 4 fish hold for the next trip. It is great to finally be able to share this sport with someone that means so much to me! Hopefully I will be able to call up a thunder chicken for him in the morning. That would be the icing on the cake!
