Default Slo-o-o-ow for me on C. Creek

Got there at daylight this morning, could tell the lake was way up. Looks like we are up a foot from last weekend. I didn't do any good today. Maybe they will be used to all the fresh water by tomorrow. I'm going to give them a try anyway. Hope everyone starts the new year out with a boat load of crappie tomorrow. Happy New Year all.

    A bad day of fishing
beats a good day at work.

    L.A. Stumpjumper,

Good to see you and Lucky on CC today. I appreciate the "guiding"! It was a tough day, but I really like that water. It looks like a couple of lanterns might make for a killer night stalk in the summer! Have you tried it?

I probably will go to my old haunts tomorrow and wait for your signal for a return trip.

    Thanks again.

I'm glad you came down Titleman, just wish conditions had been better today. I think it was all the fresh water. No I haven't tried night stalking there but like you said it ought to be good. I'll post my catches or no catches so you'll know when to try again. Good luck fishing tomorrow and Happy New Year.

Well Jerry, that sums up Friday and Saturday pretty good. I got up this morning and headed back to LR. Didn't know so many were going to be out there this morning...I would have come just to hang out. Detailed reports from Friday and Saturday.

Got out there about 8:00 Friday morning. A few boats out, including Dr Pepper. And I'm sure that this report will make DP furious. The fishing was tough to say the least. I was slo-trollin' rosies, but the wind made it very trying. Early in the morning, I caught several throwbacks and one keeper. Still had that one keeper at around 4:00 that afternoon. DP decided to leave around that time, and left me with this only keeper. About 15 minutes later, they turned on. I ended up catching eight in about 30 minutes, and then they just quit. But I felt bad that DP left just as the fish were turning on.

Saturday was absolutely my worst day out there on CC. It was disappointing as well, becase those kind of days are my most favorite times to be on the water. I guess that I should have been jiggin' shallow brushpiles out on the river. Two boats there that morning, and left within the hour. I had the entire lake to myself until late Sat. afternoon. Then one boat showed up. I was sittin' there thinking..."was I the only one who missed the memo?" Oh well, ended up gettin' a couple of good hits, a couple of throwbacks, and one lonely 10.5" crappie. Sure hope that it picks back up soon.

Looks like me and my neighbor will hit the CC first thing in the morning. In search of the 3+ lb crappie in CC.

Everything was slow on Cane Creek today except the wind. It was supposed to be NW 5-10. Well it was out of the North at 20-25 with gusts. Nobody caught any fish except Lucky and he had 2. We all left by 11:00 and went home to watch the game. Lucky, Bobberwatcher and neighbor, and I were out there today.

    Jerry,

Thanks for the report. I wound up not going at all (windy).

When I left Fordyce this morning, I could tell the wind would be fun today. I got there the same time Lucky did this morning. This is the 3rd straight trip to CC where I have struck out . Don't know how much fishing I will get to do in the next month, but will probably concentrate my efforts on Tri County. (I can catch nothing out there just as well as I can drive 1 hr and catch nothing :D )
