Default Cane Creek Lake winter crappie fishing.

I started fishing Cane Creek Lake in September 2006. Fishing on the weekends I caught my limit most of the time, with at least a dozen crappie well over 3lb and one over 4lb. On 12/26/2006 it took all day in the cold and wind but I did go home with my limit.

I have been using a crappie fishing method that I learned from some old timers that fish in and around lake Conway. We call it "floating a jig". The method appears simple but as all good fisherman know there is some thought behind any good technique.
    [*]Equipment[*]Presentation[*]Dept[*]Color jig[*]Movement of jig[*]etc.

I have shared with many people what the equipment is - 11ft jig pole, 4lb test line, 1/32nd oz lead head inside of jig, small clip on bobber(the correct size), and smallest pinch weight.

Now with the basic equipment lets go fishing. :-)
    Do ya want these crappie?

Hey Lucky it sounds easy enough, now if I can hold my mouth just right.

    A bad day of fishing
beats a good day at work.

Yeah, a lot of bass boats fish there. There is a lot of stumps out in the lake but where we are fishing is a lot of standing timber and it is not far from the State Park ramp.

If I had any vacation left tomorrow would be when I would go. Before the front comes through would be perfect. I wish I could be there, but I have to work. Sounds like a lot of rain Saturday, but I still might go if it's not storming.
