    Default Amateur TM Mounting Question

How am I supposed to mount a Minn Kota TM to a boat with the hardware that was provided (bolts, nuts, washers) when I can't get to the other side of the deck to attach the washers and nuts? Does this question make sence? I'm sure there is a solution to this problem. I know that others have had to run into this issue. Thanks in advance.

I got under the deck on mine....it wasn't easy.....There was a plastic plate up front with the trolling motor plug in and a remote tilt and trim switch....I removed that plate and layed it with the electric stuff and the wires over to the side....A friend stuck his arm in that opening and put the washers and nuts on the bolts while I held the bolts down from the top side. After he got the washers on and nuts started he held them for me while I tightened with a ratchet from the top side.....he had his arm in that opening up to his shoulder.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

Rivnut, or some kind of toggle bolt will work. I think I remember Joekiller mention some kind of fastner at lowes that is really good. I'll see if I can find where it was posted.

Here you go Matt. Barely 2 years old so not hard to find at all. I thought it was older than that. My memory must be slipping.

you can use these, but you better have some extra in the boat. They are not very durable

Matt, I probably have a mount that you could use. I had a piece of 1/8 in aluminum bent , mounted t/m to it and riveted channel to boat. call if you think you can use it. 501-581-5898. It's free

    I did what "G" said.

BUT.........today I unpackaged the Spyderloks.........and dang. I ain't sure but what the TM .....AND.......the front DF are going to have to move. Not to mention that on my Lowe, the front seat(s) is/are WAY back from the front! I'm sorta stumped.

Wonder what CMJ's going hourly rate is????????

    P.S.
If you need that 2nd hand to help bolt it in, I'm about a mile away.

If you have foam under side of deck, take a welding rod or the like, bend an ( L) shape into the end of it about 1-1/4"...put it into the hole and twist round n round with pliers while pulling upward to basically cut the foam off flush underneath...this will allow the unistrut/fastener to come flush against the bottom.....also buy extra in case you drop one or break the tabs accidentally and can't reach it. Takes 1/2" hole but worth it.
