    Haven't fished it in years. When I did fish it the water needed to be around 14 ft. Much lower and you would drag bottom getting through the brush. Any higher and the limbs on the brush was very thick.

    I grew up over there. Hard to catch the water right in spring. Water is usually too high. If the water is right you can catch crappie there any time of the year. Really good fishing in fact when the water is right.

    The Silver and Bighead Carp may crowd out native fish and eat up the algae the rest rely on to start the food chain. I think the White River overall has been on a downward spiral ever since the dams lowered the water temps.

    From historic accounts, the upper White River was the best smallmouth fishery in the region before the dams were put in. It is hard to believe that people once planed to also dam up the a Buffalo. I wish I could have fished the White pre dams.

    Yep. My uncles and family cuss to this day over the dam. I'm pretty irritated at it as well.
