I live in HSV, moved here about a year and a half ago. Lots of fishing opportunities here, but fishing these deep clear lakes can be tough. I have mostly fished the lakes inside the village, there are 9. I've fished Ouachita few times, but have yet to visit Nimrod, Hamilaton, Catherine, Greeson, DeGray, Winona, or any of the other nearby lakes.

There are two fishing clubs in the village, the anglers club is all about bass tournaments. The all species club is the Baitcasters, cache22 is the secretary.

One other thing about the village. You can get a lot more home for your money inside the village than you can in Hot Speings proper. Let me know if you want to come up and look around.

Warhawk, what kind of boat you have, looks to be a Alumicraft, what model, i'm in HSV also but not full time yet, i get there about 6-8 times a year, i thought maybe we could hookup and do some fishing outside the village. I have a Alumicraft 175 Navigator setup for spider rigging and pulling cranks, I've fished Nimrod, Hamilton, Quachita and all the lakes in HSV. I will be there in spring with a buddy to fish Gresson we both belong to Crappie.com, next time i will have to PM you and do some fishing.

Pesce, my boat is a Competitor 165 with a Suzuki 90. We have a good Alumacraft dealer (Mercury and Suzuki motors) just outside the Village on Hwy 5.

It it sounds like you've already done more fishing here than I have! I'm always ready to go fishing, but I'm still working so my opportunities are limited.

Check into to the HSV Baitcasters club. There are a handful of guys there who are pretty active fishermen.

Warhawk, that is the place i saw my boat at, some older couple in in HSV had it at KM for sale. The man was ill and had to sell it, God rest his soul, they were wonderful people and the wife has moved back by there children. The gentleman was a taxidermist and they loved to fish for the big stripers on the big Q. I have been in contact with Curtis from the Baitcasters and plan on joining. Nice talking with you Warhawk.

google "Most dangerous cities in Arkansas" or "Most dangerous cities in America" and see what turns up.
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
The sheep live in fear of the wolf but in the end it's the shepherd that eats them.

Outstanding, i really enjoying this boat. I had a bass boat before this one and always felt like I was going to fall off of it. Sam, Kens son who works at KM, had a Navigator 175 with a Suzuki motor and loved it. Don't stop by there now or you might be in a new boat. They have a gorgeous Voyageur 175 Limited with a vinyl interior.

The baitcasters have their next meeting Monday the 26th at 5:30, at the Last Chance Cafe next to the Balboa Marina. Look me up, names Jim Nelson.

Three boats and and six fishermen from the baitcasters went up to Nimrod last week, my first time up there. It sure is different from the other lakes in this area, shallow and muddy. We fished over in the river and although I got skunked, most of the others caught fish.

Another good thing about Hot Springs Village ... It'll never be on any "most dangerous" list.
