I only manages to boat 4 crappie today. But the biggest was 2.6 pounds! That's one fish made it worth it. I caught it in the same place as the other large crappie that I have caught in the pool this year. Around 7 foot of water and not close to any structure. Go figure. For some reason I have been able to pull at least one good crappie from this spot every time I have been there the past 4 weeks. I have been catching these bigger crappie on a Midsouth tube, trimmed and tipped with a minnow. After the first hour of light, they don't want a jig tipped with a minnow anymore. The other four crappie that I caught were caught off of a couple brush piles and one in the grass. Wish I would have read Russ's post before I went out today.

Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
