Went to lake Barnett this morning tried under a floating dock with a 12ft jig pole around shady sides nothing
Moved to the dam drain tried around it shady sides 5-12 ft with a double rig slab daddy on bottom chat/pink/chat
A crappie magnet on top in wht/chat
Moved back west to wide are by the middle launch where their is some cedar with more branches sticking out and caught a little bass bringing the jig back to the top to change trees
On a single jig white pearl black flake
I think I may have had my first hit from a crappie but it surprised me and no luck came home empty handed.
Better luck next time.
I know that some people catch some pretty good crappie in Barnett. However, it is not really know as a crappie lake but more as a big bass lake. Every year we see at least one largemouth that is over 10 pounds.
