Went to Conway yesterday afternoon. Caught a 3 hr. limit then went Bass fishin! The cool weather didn't seem to effect them yesterday.

Just a quick question here from a new guy about the lake and depth. I'm also new to crappie fishing as well. I just looked up Lake Conway and the average depth is 8' with some areas up to 18'. Is a fish finder still a good tool for use in these shallow depth's? I'd like to take the wife fishing at Lake Conway and It seems like a pretty good sized lake. Where would a good place to launch the boat and get right to fishing? I hate to ask questions like that but sure helps to have a starting point at a new lake. We would be driving from Batesville to get there.

I also just finished building a Jon boat so ready to get after it.

    Thanks,

    Lee

i would suggest staying closer to home rather than coming to conway and getting skunked, the lake is not easy this time of year and for a new guy whos never fished it ,id give lake Charles a try, you should be able to catch fish there , save the trip to conway for the fall/ winter or spring, much better fishing and easier to find, jmo!!!!

I agree with Greg, he wouldn't steer you wrong. Conway is a tough lake especially in the summer. They just make it sound easy cause they know it and they live there. Again, like Greg, it just my opinion.
