    The best privately owned and managed pond that I have fished was stocked with golden shiners as bait forage. The bass were huge, and the crappie were hitting 4" yellow twister tails like they were candy.


    Adding more baitfish and forage is generally a good thing for a pond if you can make it happen.

    Last time I caught some dinner plate sized fish like that was on a farm pond up in Kansas......nice pics, thanks for posting
