    Was fishing on ouachita 12years or so ago....spinning reel 6ft graphite rod....threw the lead head jig and trick worm out....lure went in the water ....line continued to unspool and go up in the air.....said to the guide...look here....he turn white....we reeled in ran to the closest bank....laid in the floor till it past.....since then I avoid those situations

    I got shocked and Greg this year a few time with my big trolling rods. Kept arcing shocks. Scared crap outta us lol. No lightening close by us either just big storm.

    I have seen that happen a couple of times but always with a metal boat. Once David and I were fishing in separate boats very near a storm and David was unable to pick up a rod.....it would just shock the crap out of him with visible arcs. I think he even got a blister from trying! I was in my Triton fiberglass and had no problem. Needless to say, we left the water.
