No comparison to the birds. Hands down better. Had the birds and won't go back. Had mine for a few years now and love them. Just my humble opinion though. Just ask BRM, after a bunch of "you can't see fish on them units", I even got Him seeing fish on his units now with a little help lol.
I have no prob finding fish on the bird! It's all about if u know how to set one up. Don't think there is much diff in them just personal preference

Got to see the 9 touch in action on Dennis' boat and it is a fine rig. Lowrance make some awesome units with awesome graphics. I wouldn't hesitate to hang some on my boat. That being said, if anyone has any of those ole junkie humminbirds, 998 hd or larger, they are discarding, just give me a pm. I'll be glad to dispose of them humanely.:biggrin
