My good friend Sonny Baker and I got a chance to slip across the river. We started about lunch. The wind was calm, but soon turned to 2' rollers. We caught a good mess that afternoon and got started the next morning about 8 AM. Water temperature was 74 degrees. We caught fish in 2' to 12' water using double minnow rigs in the top half of the water column. The big minnow pink and chartreuse minner critter combo was HOT HOT HOT! We came back with two ice chests full of nice crappie.
