I was there about 3 weeks ago and it was slow. Talked to several others that said the same. The females we caught looked to be several weeks from spawning. Are trolling or single pole.

Couldn't get away for Crappie Camp, but taking a week off in a couple of weeks. Decided to go down to Lake Village and camp at Pecan Grove RC park and fish Lake Chicot. Never been there, anyone got any pointers about the lake? Not looking for anyone's honey holes, just what the typical pattern is on the lake this time of year. Angel and I will be down there May10th thru 14th, so if anyone in the area wants to stop by the trailer, ya'll are more than welcome! We will be camping in a 36 foot Sprinter pulled by a red F-150, and the boat will be hooked up to a Brown Wrangler Unlimited.
Thanks in advance for any tips...

Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
If you cant find the fish on Chicot its a short drive to Washington. Its full of crappie. Mike at Bait n Thangsis always very helpful. Good luck.

thanks all, appreciate the help and pointers. Even if I don't catch a lot of fish, just exploring the new water will be fun.

One of the locals around here hasn't been doing too good so far on Chicot. He usually lets me know when the bite is on, saw him today and he said the most he has caught in a single trip was 8.
Thanks Jmike, I'll put a post on here if I do any good. You know BlackFish, I haven't been on washington either, maybe another lake to explore. Thanks

I've been to Washington twice and everytime, I drive by Chicot. You wouldn't know it by looking but there is no comparison between the two lake's crappie populations.
I don't know too many people at all on the site. I haven't personally fished Washington but I do know I'm going to make a few trips that way this summer. Go to Mississippi outfitters website they have some info on most popular lakes in Mississippi. I look forward to seeing some pictures of full ice chest!
