Default Gave the crappie a break and hammered some redears

My dad wanted to get some crickets and try our old redear spots on White Oak Lake near Camden. We started around 4:00 or so. There were a few, but not really stacked up yet. We brought back 12 big redears, 5 nice sized bluegills, 2 crappie (yes, on crickets with a bream hook) and 1 catfish. Dad and I had a good time and that's what's important.

I'm still hooked up to my boat; he wants to go back tomorrow morning so that's what we'll do.

Good luck to all the gobbler hunters tomorrow. Me? I'll be brimming with Pops! GTT

It got dark on me. I will try to post some pics tomorrow. Redears are pretty fish, almost as pretty as a big ole paper mouth crappie. Hope we pick up some tomorrow. GTT

Speaking of...I killed a turkey over there close to that lake once upon a time after I finally figured out the first one I was calling to was a tame one in a pen across the road from a food plot nearby...lol...pretty place...glad you had a good time.

They were not biting today! I think we caught 5 keeper bluegills. No redears, crappie, or cats this morning. I just can't understand it........beautiful day, not much wind, seemed like the perfect morning. Can't make them bite, though. Will definitely try again, though.

Here are two from yesterday, right out of the ice chest, cold & slick. GTT

If bream were the size of bass, it'd take E piano wire to land 'em.
