there are plenty of brushpiles. there is a brush pile anywhere you think there should be one already. lake has lots of standing timber left too, mostly cedar.
went up river this evening. sucked. lots of widow makers to dodge on the way up... farther you go, the colder the water gets. guess that snow melt did that?
you can out run the mud, but you better be with someone who knows the river like the back of his hand. would not advise it if you don't and value you lower unit/life.
i'll stand by my orginal suggestion, to fish horseshoe bend area and north to prairie creek. go back in the creeks. plenty to fish, look for horizotnal wood on 45 degree banks, with water over 10 foot, preferably 25 plus. be careful, there are ALOT of floaters.
PS: keep the kentuckies... all of them. lake is getting over-run. 6 per person. they eat just as good as crappie!

We fished all day today and didn't catch one crappie. Hopefully better tomorrow. Going t do some vertical jigging in the timber and see if that works

little report for ya, may be it helps
went walleye fishing, way, way up river today. man, what a long day. had three walleye on, land one. fished like a maniac (aka, bass tournament angler) till 2:00, then went crappie fishing. managed 5 keepers out of the mud, still on the horizontal wood pattern. took alot of patience to catch them. don't think the mud is as much as a problem as all of the trash floating in it, disorients the fish or something. Fish caught were on orange/chartreuse Hinee's, and some of our new black/Chart 2.5XL tubes. Good water displacement from them, i think it got bit quicker because of that. Oh, good to meet ya LRjoe1.
We went to prairie creek today and fished some agfc brush piles and caught 6 crappie. 2 on a minnow jig and 4 on a pumpkin/chartreuse tube jig fished 8ft under a bobber in 20 ft of water.
Launched at 12 bridge yesterday to try out new prop and ran up that way. didn't fish, but its much, much better looking water.
Yep, I put in at Horseshoe yesterday and that was the mud line. Nothing north of that yesterday. I decided I am going to fish south today. Gonna put in at 412.

I will go SLOW and easy so I don't have to try out a new prop myself.

Kent, did you try out our spot from last year? Haven't had a chance to get out there for a while.
