When fishing tubes I use a Southern Pro Umbrella tube which is larger. Unpainted leadheads are cheaper and would not matter anyway inside. Here is part of a newspaper article on Crappie fishing with this detailed.

Harold the article nimble posted shows how.

Dead on if the jig head is inside the tube the color of the head doesn't matter.

If the jig body is pushed up on the barb then color can matter sometimes.

Buckrub if it slides off the use a little cray glue on the jig lead barb. The plastic won't slide off then.

Disclaimer there are many ways to fish. Just choose what fits your style!!!

Mac Daddy show me the crappie magnet head!! Our 2 cents best jig head out their for tubes, crappie magnets!!We have also been using them on Creekslicks creek spins (double barb) holds plastic's good!!
