    Default Spider rigging question ??

Being new to spider rigging, I have question concerning an easy way that more experienced folks use to stow their rods without un-tieing everything. I use 16 foot long poles and normally a double minnow rigs. I also have a rod rack to carry the poles in. If I want to change locations, I use rubber bands to attach the hooks to a nearby line guide. This works pretty well but is time consuming.

What are some methods others use? Thanks for any help.

If you're fishing with the weight on the bottom, use a split ring to put a snap swivel on the eyelet just above your handle. Snap it into the eye of the bell weight. Put an O-ring on the shaft of your rod in the area your top hook will be. Just lay the hook against the shaft and roll the ring over the barb. If you're fish Capps & Coleman style just put two O-rings on the shaft in the area the hooks need to be secured. I have mine on the butt end. I wrap the slack from the tip to the butt around the rod 4 or5 times. No tangle. If you use the snap swivel, don't forget to close it before you start fishing. If left open you are going to get a line from another pole snagged into it.

I use CC type double rig. I pull bottom hook around reel base- hook to top hook and reel tight. Rap long line around eye and go. Works for me.
