I lived a few years in Utah and got used to putting elevation with the snow line. I have been wondering if that applies here in Arkansas.
We we drove back from Kansas today and watched the gps in the truck for elevations. The elevations on hwy 7 between Nimrod and Jessieville range from about 575 feet to a little over 1100 feet. Below 850, no ice and very little snow. Once you got to 950 you saw more snow and the trees still have ice from last weeks storm.
I was was surprised that the ridge we lived on in the village is almost exactly the same elevation as the high point on hwy 7. We still have lots of snow and ice here.
