First check power contection and then fuses. Got a 12 volt test light ? Sure helps to check power first.

Normally spinning your finder alot can cause wires to break.......I agree....normally power connection somewhere. I would check directly under your unit first.

    What model is it?
Friend of mine had a problem like that. He brought his boat over and the first thing we checked was the problem. His fuse and holder were corroded bad. Replaced it, works fine now.

Check battery connection as sometimes corrosion will cause a bad connection

Get a meter check for voltage, should be pretty close to 12-13v

Make sure it's seated on base properly.

Same thing happened to my HB last year. Determined I was getting power to the base so is sent the head unit back to HB and they charged me $60 to fix it. They sent it back to me in the same shape so I called and complained and they emailed me a pre-paid shipping label to send it back again and now since getting it back the second time it's been fine.
