    Roughneck,

One of the things I want to start tackling this summer is diving to look at the conditions of the piles. We need to determine if they need to be re-stock with brush. I bet your assessment is correct that a lot of them are badly deteriorated.

I considered hiring a guide for a day and learning from them but don't want them to feel like I'm hijacking where they fish. I guess if I told them up front that I planned on fishing on my own later that would be fair? Any thoughts on using a guide to learn a little about a lake? I welcome any opinion I've fished w a guide before but only for trout and 1 bass trip to okechobee.

Havent been to Norfork in a while but we rarely left diamond bay. Great fishing there. Good fishing in brushys and jordans also. Good luck.
