Default Navonics or Lake master for my 898.

I know there are different opinions on this issue but maybe I can get an idea as to what direction I should go. Thanks

Depends on the lakes you fish. Not sure about up there but we don't have anything mapped by lakemaster here and navionics sux on my home lake due to no mapping in the backwater area. Lowrances insight seems to be best for us.

LakeMaster is re surveying all of the N. Mississippi lakes now. They have also done KY Lake and several others in MO. Not sure of the rest, but it might be better to wait on them. Navionics doesn't have good coverage on shallower areas because they surveyed the lakes at Winter Pool, when they were low. They couldn't get to those areas at that time. Like RG said, the Insight built in the Lowrance units works well in these areas, but doesn't show the contours as well as Navionics.

Jeff - I have Navionics on my 898. It has the big 4 in MS and Most central AR (Dardanelle) For what I need it for I am happy with it. If you wait till camp I will be glad to let you use it.

Thanks Billy, I may take you up on it. I'm not I any hurry, does it over Conway Brewer or any of the other smaller lakes?

Jeff, I have the Lakemaster so if I can make it to camp you can look at both and see which is best for you.

Thanks Creek, I'm hoping to make it for a couple of days and maybe I'll get a chance to check it out
