Size: 43.7 KBHaven't had a chance to fish much this fall, however, my wife and I ventured out of Fayetteville the last few days. We started out at one of our favorite winter time crappie lakes - a place called Caddo on the Texas - Louisiana border just south of Texarkana. The fish just wouldn't cooperate - there was too much current from all the recent rains. Oh well good food and good times. Monday morning we were coming thru central Arkansas and stopped at one of the popular destinations around Conway. We only caught a few and gave those to shawnh and skitrip. We fish with a different variety of jigs. That evening after sending Crappie Greg a pm - he was kind enough to response very quickly with some accurate info. Fished rosie reds on the bottom and bingo. The next morning we beat the crowd a little and had 29 by noon. Some pretty good fish but a lot of solid eaters. It was great to see some cc.comers we already knew and had the opportunity to meet new ones (shawnh, Crappiejeff, Kayakcrappieman and his dad, gindog). PS - Tuesday I also solved my Christmas shopping problem - I am fishing with 2 rods in my hand with another on the deck - not in a holder. About this time Mr. Drum gobbled and ran taking the rod with him. My wife informed me that is my good Todd Huckabee rod that you lost. Santa Claus is going to replace it.
