    Default Fishing reports !

Well I saw crappie Jeff make a post on another thread and I felt compelled to respond in a separate thread instead of hijacking the other one.

Crappie Jeff, not sure what kinda response you hope to elicit from your post on the other thread. What I can say is there are a lot of folks that share information and fish together from the forum. Hang in there and contribute to the forum when you can. I can also tell you there are a LOT of people who just open the browser, read oh the fish are biting at the "hotspot of the week" and never contribute a darn thing!! Is this right IMO nope. So these Internet fisher folks save there gas money and time waiting for the report to go fish and then high tail it over there, and most of the time don't post or find anything for the other folks that regularly try to make the posts. I also ask you to put yourself in the other persons shoes.

If you want to figure out where folks are fishing most of the time, we all have home waters we fish and post from, just go back and search the forum and the info is there. More tips are in the archives on almost every lake fished. We may not post the name but what is info worth?

This is kinda how lake X got its name. To many folks who don't do anything for the site want a handout wanting to know exactly where "x marks the spot" to fish. A lot of stuff is done through pm's.

I have seen a lot of folks on the water fish and struggle to catch fish when they are jumping in the boat. So I ask people what is more important the name of the lake or the technique used. With with the right technique you can fish anywhere!

On another note, there are folks from all walks of life and careers. When someone needs help it's just a matter of asking on here from plumbing to electrical.

Just good for thought and my opinion, what is everybody else's?

Instead of telling someone that it doesnt take a rocket scientists to figure out where the fish are biting I sent him a pm and pointed him in the right direction. Sometimes its frustrating when your not in the "it" crowd.

It is always a little frustrating when a newcomer comes in here with an attitude. Crappie Jeff, you will not find a better bunch of guys (and some times gals). The secret codes for the various lakes are more of a joke than a "click". I haven't fished with everybody. But, I know one that participates in the insider "click" has shown me how he prepares his jigs, where to put them and when. Then when I still couldn't out fish him, he gave me his catch.
I hope you stick around and get your mind changed. Read the sticky about the Crappie Camp and come join us. If locations are all you are concerned about, these guys can teach you so much more.

I found out that if you ask, they will tell.

I find the PM button to be priceless. Eventhough info don't allow me to catch any more fish, just better fish (sometimes)

I haven't ever sent a pm to a CDC member about fishing that wasn't answered. Nor have I ever recieved a pm and not replied. If you ask, it will get answered. I have meet some great people from here and made some life long friends that if it wasn't for this site i would never had met them.

I have no idea where lake x, y, or z is, but I HAVEN"T asked anyone either.

I do find it interesting that the few people that has so curiously mentioned these secret spots have just a few posts. Does make you wonder if it was spelled out for them would they still be lerking.

I dont get to fish as much as I would like to...YET. But what I do is follow more technique and general advice than actual location on this website. I remember one summer I had a day off and PM'd a member here (I'll save the name so he doesn't get smoked with requests). He told me where a private boat launch was and that he would meet me on the water when he got off work. He showed me some techniques and spots and told me to have fun. We met up again at the end of the trip. He had 13 fish, I had 3. He dumped the 13 fish in my cooler and went to do some more fishing. Point of the story is that I honestly believe there are some honest and great people on this site that would give you their pinky finger if you asked for it. The things I learned that day are invaluable and I would and will pass along anything I learn if given the chance.

There's a lot of great people on this site. Everyone will help if asked. Regardless of their response on this board you have to put your time on the water to be stressful. I fish two weeks ago and I cough 38 of the two man limit. And Woodpecker cough two or three fish that day. I have been where I been the same boat and only got 2/3 with someone else catching them all. Get to know some of these guys and show them you not a hole jumper. CMJ and myself went to the river today, we learn a lot and did not come away empty-handed
All men are created equal, some work harder in the preseason.
