DR...I agree. Not fishing Conway this fall is weird. As I mentioned earlier, I just started fishing the Little Maumelle earlier this year. You can navigate several miles up river into cypress thickets etc. It's really beautiful. CEB has done a good job and graciously shared a lot of information about fishing the mouth and lower part of the river. I'm told...and assume it's true...by a handful of folks I've talked to the past couple of weeks who have fished it for years that as far as crappie go it's really a winter fishery. They say the crappie move out of the Little Maumelle to the Arkansas during the spring and summer and begin to return up river late October through April. We caught several nice crappie up river back in March and April, but I've not caught a one since except in that area at the mouth of the river and the very few we've caught recently have been on the small side. But they do eat.

But there are beautiful days my wife and I have just meander up and and meandered back and hated it when it was time to go.
