    Default Lake Hamilton

Just a quick report on Lake Hamilton. The wife, younger son and I went out late this morning and did a little scouting. As usual, the size is good. The boy boated a 15"er first thing and then we ended up with a few walleye and a small cat.

I think I'm going to go back to Lake Greeson tomorrow and see if we can't slay'em like Jerry's been doing. See ya'll at crappie camp.

The crew I have fishing tomorrow wants to fish Lake Hamilton because they live on the lake so I'll check to see if ya left any. Maybe with an earlier start we can get a mess of gooduns.

Looks mighty fine to me! What depth range has been most productive?

We've been fishing 13-15ft. deep in 18-22ft of water. For several days there the crappie were real tight and deep inside the brush. The bite was very light and they would only take very small minnows. Now that the water is cooling off again, they're going to get more aggressive and hopefully hit whatever you throw at them. I like it when they hook themselves, lol.

Darryl good looking crew you had there Saturday. Glad you got to spend some time on the water with your family. I had a blast with my kid over there Tuesday and I sure appreciate all you did to make our day such a success.

Take care and I will see you at Crappie camp.

Good to hear from you Richard. Lake Hamilton has been offering much larger than average crappie but we still haven't seen the numbers there like we have in the past. The size is smaller at Greeson but this Fall is shaping up to be a good one. As the water temp falls I'm sure they'll get going on Hamilton sooner or later. See ya on the 20th. Call me the evening of the 19th.
