Thread: She yelled DAD!!! NET!!!

I had just passed my daughter on the bank and talked with her as she was intently trout fishing on the White River below Bull Shoals Dam. After our conversation and looking Down at four nice trout already on her stringer, I said alright hun I will be just down the bank from ya. I got about 40 yards away from her when I heard DAD!!! NET!!!. You just know your child's voice when they YELL for ya.

I quickly proceeded to her side where I saw her doing battle with the biggest trout of her life on a micro ultra light spinning rod and reel and 4 LB test. I watched her play the trout like a Pro for 10 minutes. It made powerful runs. jumps, and head shakes. As if to let my daughter know this wont be easy...I am not going to give you this moment with your Dad easily. Not to mention the pressure of 15 people watching her fight the biggest trout of her life.

She kept her composure and was even able to get another anglers line off her line to land her biggest trout. I will always remember the look on her face and how proud she was to land that fish.

I know there are bigger Browns that swim there...but I know this was a special fish that will always be in our family talks at Thanksgiving, Christmas, or setting on the porch... sipping on a glass of TEA. It's every Outdoors Father's dream to hear his child yell. DAD!!! Get The NET!!!!
