Ski you talking about opening day of bow season or gun season? That sounds like a good idea.

With my eye sight failing...I cant bow hunt anymore, no open sights...I got to have a good rifle scope to get a shot off now. There comes a time when we all must lay the Rifle and Bow down. My hunting days are almost over...not by choice and way to early for me. I am grateful for the memory's and animals the good lord blessed me with when I could see well tho. So my attention turns towards the best game fish in America. The crappie in the fall.

CP , given up hunting ? I guess fishing will be next? Got your room in the nursing home reserved ?

Modern gun. Gave up bow hunting a few years ago. Felt like it wasn't safe for me to be climbing a tree in a climbing stand anymore. At least not the smart thing to be doing. Had a big ol' tower stand on telephone poles for gun hunting and it was pretty safe, and that's what I was referring to giving up.

I still enjoy deer hunting a hand full of times each year. Sure not like it used to be when i was a young man. Whr big duck hunters up my way but turkey hunting is still my favorite by far! Catching crappie just tops it all off for me! Very looking forward to the fall bite myself. My favorite time to fish.
