I like to do mine with something other than carpet. I don't have a nice boat like your Greg

I have the trailer slicks on mine. Got them from Cabellas. Second boat that I have used them on. Comments are correct about sliding off the trailer. Always leave strap hooked until you get to the water.
Also...check the screws occasionally to make sure one does not back out of the board and wear a hole in your boat. Just something to check on.

I did something similar on a previous boat and trailer I owned. But I used pieces from a truck bed liner that a body shop gave me for free. You also need to be careful when loading your boat because unlike the drag that carpet puts on your boat when it hits the runners and slows it down some, there isn't any drag and you can slide forward too fast and hit your winch stand too way to hard. I bent the front of that aluminum boat a little the first time I loaded it.

Did you cut them long ways or across? I got to get something on mine soon I see a bolt head shining.

They are not on my trailer there on a friend of mine, they come just as you see them and the screw holes are already in them and counter sunk

Gindog, I cut them long ways with a skill saw and placed them on the runners and placed short decking screws in the recessed part of the old liner. The body shop that gave me the old liner does Rhino lining in truck beds and they had several of them at the time so if I needed an old liner that's where I would look.
