Only line I know of that changes color as it goes out is lead core line. That would not be useful for crappie for putting things down deep without a downrigger. Don't know of any other line. If it was important for you you could get a reel with a line counter or mark off the line yourself with colored thread or some other such identifier.

How do you keep your pre-rigged set-ups organized and tangle free. I've tried rolling mine up on a swimming noodle and that doesn't seem to work unless I'm doing it wrong, besides it takes up too much space. Any help would be appreciated.

I am not far enough along to have any pre-rigged stuff for Crappie Fishing. In a past life I used PVC with notches in it and could run my leaders lengthwise on it. Sometimes I would use Toilet paper Rolls and stuff the rig inside the roll to keep it tangle free. Always seemed to be enough rolls around. haha. Space is always an issue regardless of the size of your boat or house. I think sometimes were carry too much stuff with us and use about 10 % of it. Well that how it seems it goes for me. I think the best organizer is being smart with what you take with you to start with. Having said that I don't practice it... I got a enclosed trailer in my drive that has the stuff I moved out to TN. That was in 2008. I am going to have to unload that one of these days.

I don't intend to be without a critter. But, for bare hooks, I use a simple #6 cricket hook. I hook the minners up through the lips.
