CrappieKeeper and I kept 2 limits of decent fish slowtrolling 1/8 oz. jigs tipped with minnows this morning. We found aggressive fish in 5 FOW not relating to any structure. They were full of small shad. The action was so fast and furious that we were missing fish because we already had 2 or more on our other poles! We tried a few other deeper pallet beds but they just didn't have the fish like the shallow water. Wind changed from West all the way to East while we were out there. I'm glad to see them biting so aggressively now. Makes it a lot easier to catch'em.
Any combination with pink seemed to edge out the other colors on bites with Lime/Chart. and Black/Chart running a close second and third. We met Percheater and his friend from Thornburg and they gave us some of their minnows and we continued fishing. Nothing real big but all fish kept were 10"+ with a few that probably hit a pound. May try 'em again in a few days.

Nice, sounds like minners and trolling are the ticket on Nimrod.
good report thanks for the up date
All men are created equal, some work harder in the preseason.

Yea Handi, It's a good way to fish Nimrod as all the flats are less than 10 feet deep. I believe that a guy could troll 100 series bandits and probably do well. I may just try it later this week as I have a lot of Bandits. I caught a 15" black crappie the other day casting a Bandit for bass. Now that I'm disabled and no longer working I hope to be able to make a few trips over to Miss. to learn how you guys troll Bandits in those lakes. May try to make a few fall trips this year.
CATCH A BIG-UN
Thanks Handi! Conway is a friend of mine and he was telling me ya'll were trying to hook up so he can try the crankbait trolling. We were talking about trying it out on Dardanelle sometime.
CATCH A BIG-UN
It's called trawling on that lake , or sometimes referred to as blind dragging !!!!!! Lol!!!!!!
Midsouth Tackle
If it will hold cornmeal it's big enough for me !!!!!!!!!
