I never used range cubes , try soured grain like Wheat or Sweet feed pellets right out of the sack. I bait drop offs with cover here.

Tried chumming with range cubes in 25 ft. on a ledge off creek channel in norfork lake, no luck tried worms, cut perch, and chicken liver. Water temperature 85 should feed them over cover like tree tops?

Thanks for answering Nimrod. Your posts on chumming are really cool. Thats what I want to get started. I want to get to catching catfish so I can take my two girls and wife and actually catch fish. How often do you rebait? And can you catch them during the day or only at night? I'll get some sweet feed and bait several more places. Oh and is it the right time of year to bait?
Keep in mind it's like the crappie, some lakes are loaded while you may struggle a bit on others. Also you might try cotton seed cake, people have baited with that stuff for years. Any type of grain would work pretty good once soured out though. I've tried it on different lakes and some places just don't produce. Fourche River (lake Nimrod) is loaded with cats and so is Blue Mtn.... and even closer to me the Little River (Millwood Lake). Good luck though and I hope you draw some in.
Any soured grain will work used to keep 2 55 gal. drums souring at a time.We would bait 4-5 places then go back and start fishing.Yes they will bite in the day.
