If you plan on pulling any cranks on a lake that has flooded timber use braided line. Also when you buy braid buy it in different colors so you can get the tangles loose much easier and believe me if you pull cranks you are going to have some tangles.

All men are created equal, some work harder in the preseason.

Is winter over yet?
Good advice. I have a question. Why is pulling cranks done primarily in the summer? I have noticed that most people dont pull out the cranks until the water reaches 75-80 degrees, then put em back up when it gets below that. Is it because of the need for a slower presentation in cooler water? Just curious.

I hadn't thought about the different colored line......Good tip.
You can't believe what kind of a mess a 5-10# catfish can make with 6-8 rods out

Never thought about different colored lines. Can definitely see how that would help.
When pulling cranks this time of year where do you pull cranks, on flats or in deep water??????
Good advise Creek.
