Oh, it's a pretty lake and I'm sure the crappie that are there will taste better than other places because of the cool, clear, deep water but tough to catch also. My buddy made a bass fishing trip over there this past Spring and caught a 5LB fish and I almost didn't believe him. He was like I almost didn't believe it either from that lake.
Long as your going I'll tell ya about the brush I know about over there. They used to dump cane up that big cove headed towards Arrowhead Point to the shallow side towards the North side of the cove by Hwy 70. Most of it seemed like it would be way too shallow any other time of the year except spawn time though. Just not a lot of deeper brush that we've ever found over there to fish around. Now here's the kicker out of all the AR lakes they claim to have the best crappie fishing rated way up there. Now i'm not saying there better than say a Conway or Nimrod but that lake was ranked highly for whatever reason???? Course out of the top US lakes Hamelton of all lakes was in the top 50 crappie lakes and I sure don't believe that either cause out of numerous trips I don't think I ever boated a single crappie over there, not just one!
Like grandpa used to say, "Well you can't believe everything you hear".
