    Default Conway info

I got this from D10's report. I know some guys expressed interest in this.

The majority (27%) of the tagged crappie released in Pierce Creek in the spring were caught in Gold Creek. However none of these harvested individuals were caught until October, five months after they were tagged and released. Crappie were only caught in Pierce Creek for two months before dispersing and returning nine months later. One crappie that was tagged in Pierce Creek traveled 5.5 miles in 7 days and was caught in Palarm Creek.

It indicates to me that there are some sorry crappie fisherman in the green and adams lakes areas.

No.....wait. It indicates to me that there is not much fishing pressure in the green and adams lake areas from june to october

No....wait. It indicates to me that crappie take a vacation sometime between June and October and the returning bus only stops on the north end. The vacation bus may leave from the north end as well. Why else would a crappie dash from the south end to the north end as fast as he could go?

    These studies are quite complicated.

I am glad that someone actually read my report. Normally they just sit on the preverbial shelf, collecting dust, unread. Thanks for taking interest in my work!

Complicated in deed. The statements made about crappie movement are only as accurate as the reports of anglers who reported their catch. We have to assume they are being honest in the study.

I read a sampling report from Lake Poinsett. That seemed extremely complicated to me. I think I'll go back and see if I can find it. Maybe I'm smarter now.

Conway intrigues me. Have you done a similar study for Bass on Conway? Also, I dont think the report specified, I assume that the majority of the fish tagged were White Crappie? If so this would explain why they virtually disappeared during the summer months? Any idea why this happens?

Mojorig is a great guy and biologist. Give him a holler and he will answer any questions you have on any of his lakes.
