If you go far enough up you'll go under a bridge, that's where I would start and fish further up. Be aware it gets stumpy

Me and a buddy put in at the 430 bridge about 6:15 this evening. Fished about hour and half. caught 8 gooduns and a few dinks. Didn't get too far from the launch. headed up river and fished about the first 5 tops on the right hand side. You can go quite aways up river, past the 5 dollar launch and get into some cypress up there, but once you get that far up 7 ft deep is about the deepest water you will find. Watch for stumps. I live in benton too and fish Little Maumelle mostly. Holler at me, and welcome to the board.

That is a good place to go me an a buddy of mine and his wife went up their a couple times last year. We all caught our limits and all these guys are right it gets really stumpy especially if you go past the bridge. Good Luck and have fun.

I fished for about 3 hours mostly looked around..caught 6 keeper crappie not any slabs..3 on jig pole around laydowns and 3 on a spinning rig throwing a kalins grub lemon meringue around lilly pads..did catch several bream and bass as well so not too bad for my first short trip on the river I guess..could of been worse that is for sure!

Welcome Castin n blastin!! Iv fished Lil M lots this winter and spring. for verticle jig fishing I would suggest the area around the Marina there are lots of downed trees and brush topps lots of 10-18 FOW. launch is $3 bucks there. it is just down the road from the $5 launch. For shallower jig a bob fishing i like the $5 launch area...much shalow water there and up stream. If its warm out and my boat is running good (LOL) i just put in at Twin Rivers bridge and motor up to Marina. Befor spawn i caught the majority of my fish on Minnows. as for jig colors my best producer has been a Arkansas shad colored jig with twisty tail.
    Good Luck

I heard you were the Lil Maumelle king already..ha..I appreciate the info..from what little time I had on the water today I caught a few but nothing to get excited about other than the fact I didnt come in to the office till noon which is always good..there were a few fish out in front of the old lilly pad stems between the marina and twin rivers it seemed and caught those on kalins grubs lemon meringue color. If you see me up there Ill be in a white and blue Ranger bassboat give me a shout..I will be back I love some of that shallow dingy water for sure, reminds me of our holes in East Arkansas!

Welcome from Nimrod Lake. Be careful motoring up Little Maumelle cause it has some bad stumps. I used to Bass fish up there years ago. Hey are the live Cypress trees still above the bridge?
