I watched the Game Wardens watch a couple boats electro fishing below a David D Terry dam a few years back. It don't take long to put a thousand lbs of fish in a boat.

Didn't do a whole lot that night. Caught 8, the ones I did catch were big ones though. I did manage to clean some of up some of the junk people left behind.

Phone is old technology. Now a Skoal can will hold the entire rig. Heard a story of a couple of guys accidentally dropping one in below the mills dam. The river almost turned white for a couple of minutes from catfish bellies.
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.

My grandpa talk about one time a warden caught him one time and he said he pitch the leads in his boat and give him a buzz. He said he also did it with TNT too. My grandpa was a outlaw and did not believe it them (G&F). He always said God put them on this earth to feed us, not for some man to tell me him he was not hungry. My mom said they always had meat of some kind when she was young and most was wild or fish. Sometime in the 50s he kill a bear and the warden see him at the beer joint with a claw and ask him about him kill one. Grandpa ask the warden if there was bears in season and warden said no. Grandpa said no I did not kill a bear, I killed something else. Then him and some other help the warden out the beer joint. That all happen at the great city of Arkansas city.

That story reminded me of Jim Tom on The Moonshiners. Sounds like a feller I would like to have met.

Good thing we have wardens now and folks ain't gotta poach to feed their families. At the rate it was going back then everyone would have starved and this would be an empty land with everything extinct. My moma's family did what it took to get fish and what game was left to get. That was when east Arkansas still had virgin Hardwood forests and scattered farms. Deer and Turkey were scarce before restocking took place. Wonder what this state would be called with out our fish and game? Perhaps the Natural state would be the Un-natural state ?

I used to have one, it broke a few years ago. It worked really good on my grandmas pond when I was younger and didn't know no better.
