Nice fish! This time of year why not take your pictures and let her go? Fought wind at Piney this morning, caught two females 2 pounds plus, took their picture and let them go. Didn't need them to eat, so why not let them go to spawn(big gets big). Just a thought!

    Why this time of year....

If you harvest a female you harvest a female.... Today, tomorrow, next year ..... What's the differance?

If that's the case you should release all females at all times...

If you would have caught a female back in the fall it would have been different?

Great fish and a heck of a good story. Put it on the wall. Research has shown that 10 to 11 crappie are the best spawners. That fish was nearing the end of it's life cycle.
    Congratulations.

Take a few pictures, get the proper measurements, have a replica made and release it... Into the frying pan!
