I have been spider rigging with double minnow rigs. I have a tube jig on the bottom rig tipped with a minnow. Fishing in the middle of the creeks. Time has been the afternoons.

I've read about that way of fishing but haven't tried it myself yet. Thanks!

Nice mess! Beaver is an outstanding fishery! I'll be out all weekend. I'm going to target the big females suspending near the creek drop offs then I'll hit the males close to the bank. Tight lines my friend!

Will you just be single casting with lures (like jigs) and minnows or using these more trolling like setups? Also when you mention "creek dropoffs" I'm not sure we have those around my area (War Eagle)? More like like little coves or inlets...are those considered creeks too?

Yes, creek drop offs in either river arm, white or war eagle or any run off creek channel like in coves off of rivers or main lake. Channel bends tend to hold the most fish. Drop offs are where shallower water suddenly drops into the old channel from a creek, river or run off. I've got numerous piles set along channels that will hold fish year round, but especially good for pre and post spawn crappie.
I don't like trolling, stresses me out. I use one pole and rather cast or jig soft plastics.

Thanks. That's good to know. Earlier I was asking what time of day he was catching his fish. I'm putting a new post on the forum about fishing times and a chart the Weather Channel shows.
