What the update scoop on conway oil spill? The new said that Exxon has lied on how much was spilled.

Gindog - the oil is still being kept south of highway 89 in the wetland area. They have begun to clear this area out and clean up the oil that they could not suck up. I have not heard a solid estimate on the amount of oil that was spilled. I have heard any where from 10,000 to 20,000 barrels of oil. We have been finding oil covered ducks, beavers, turtles, snakes, and a muskrat. Some of them dead. We will continue to be on the lookout for animals in the area. The good news is that water quality testing still confirms that there are no traces of oil north of highway 89 and there is a very small trace of hydrocarbons in the open part of the wetland that you can see from highway 89. I am talking about only less than a part per billion of a hydrocarbon chain.

Thanks for the report D10, some folks are conspiracy theorists and believe there is some type of cover up going on by Exxon and believe the oil has made it to the main lake. Just out of curiousity, do u know what chemicals they are testing for? I've done some research on this dilbit oil and it has arsenic, cyanide, and other nasty junk mixed with it to make it flow.

Not for sure of all of the chemicals they are testing for, but I do know thaey are testing for the standard hydrocarbon chains found in oil and gasoline. We are supposed to get a detailed report at sometime. I will make it a point to get my hands on the report tomorrow.
