I've just not ever liked the longer ones. I have 2, 10' B&M and 2, 12' B&M's. I guess it's just whatever your comfortable using. I like the light feel of the shorter ones myself. If they made a really light long pole I might like it better and some are lighter than others. Those Ozark poles don't feel too bad, i've felt a whole lot worse crappie poles. I was cranking grubs with my 10' pole the other day and didn't let a one of those bigger crappie get off while my buddy just had about a 6' spinning rig and lost a couple. You can play them better and they don't rip out of soft mouths as easy with the longer poles, like say the 10' ones vs a 6' pole. I am sold on those pfluger spinning reels on them though, the trion series, or the smaller $29 versions. They are really light and don't add unneeded weight to the rod. I can see when spidder rigging 4 poles having your shorter ones out front and the longer poles out the sides, just whatever works for you.
