Hear tell they are having a frog gigging contest in Lawrence county this year.
I love fried frog legs and would trade a pile , a big pile of Crappie fillets for a mess of Frog legs!Love to hunt them but it is tough to find many these days.

i frogged long ago with a man that was old school. a carbide light was all he would use because it would make the frogs eye shine like a new penny. he gigged. if you never duckhunted old style long ago you won't know what i'm talking bout when i say paddle boat. i used one in the duck woods and we used it in the ditches and with it we could frog places no one else could. most times when i went with others we'd catch them by hand. still got my 2 paddle boats. you got to know how to run and ride one.
jigpole, i bet he makes ash push paddles too. building them is almost a lost art. the two brothers that made mine said every board in the boat is cut at an angle.
Nope, he cheated and used plywood for the bottom.
My Grandpa "Pa" is A wood working genius! We had the plans to make them out of cypress planks. And yes! Every board was angled.
The floor was planks glued together.. We were going to use a joiner and little biscuit deals...
My grandpa will be 83 this year.... Probably not much time left..
I may make it a priority to get this boat built this summer...
