Default My all time biggest on a trolling pole

Caught this flat head today on an 14 foot Ozark trolling rod. He weighted just shy of 35lbs and boy did he pull. This joker went at least 250 yards before he even checked up. Took about 25 minutes to ware him down, then the net wasn't big enough and I was by myself. I finally just grabbed him in the mouth and jerked him in the boat. Right after he soaked me down thrashing like a wild mustang.Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1364957048.350875.jpg

Way to go, Don! Now if that's not a testament to how good Ozark rods are, I don't know what is!!! I wish I'd been there to see that! Hafta follow him in the boat to wear him down? Good job, man!

Now you got some good eatin Donald. There is one thing a crappie fisherman and a flathead have in common, both the fisherman and the flathead like to eat crappie. Nice fish. Was that a Conway flathead or a river flathead?

Years ago, up in Kansas, a guy set the state record with a big flathead that he caught crappie fishing, using 4# line and a crappie jig.

Congratualtions, not too many folks ever catch a 35 pound fish of any kind, certainly not on a crappie rig.
