The oil is still contained to the wetland/cove/bay that is south of highway 89. You may have seen an interview where the Attorney General Dustin McDaniel said that the oil is in Lake Conway. He is interperating that the area that is south of Highway 89 is Lake Conway. Technically speaking it is, but it is not part of Lake Conway propper. We do not want the public thinking that oil is in the main lake. There will be an interview on ch. 4, 7, and 11 that addresses this issue at 5:00pm tonight (in 30 minutes). Today I got a look at the lab results from the water qualtiy testing and to date there is no abnormalities on the north side of Highway 89. Today they have started clearing out the buckbrush so that they could begin physically removing reminants of the oil. Hopefully this proccess will not take too long.
