There ain't any, unless you want to hear about 5 nights stuck in a rocking and rolling trailer. I didn't even put my boat in the water one time.
I guess the highlights was dinner and the Fish Nest in Glenwood. I had breakfast with Jerry Blake and we caught up on some old times. I met a real nice highway boy near the Glenwood rest area that explained 66 MPH was speeding. Five minuets later, I met his local buddy that explained that 52 in a 45 was not acceptable neither. I don't remember what my hurry was and can't imagine what it would have been.
One bright side is that me and mrs DP still like each other this morning after such close quarters.

I grew up in Murfreesboro and let me tell you them Pike county cops do not tolerate speeding! For all be forewarned lol. Where did you camp DP. I usually stay at Cowhide Cove.
It good thing you didn't have a bad weekend.

For many, many years, ending in about 1980 or 1990-something, I can't remember, there was about 15 of us that went to Greeson every year at this time to camp and fish. We started by going up the Missouri at Star of the West and fishing for White Bass that came up to spawn. There'd be arm to arm fisherman for a mile! But many times we'd miss that run, and we'd crappie fish. We stayed at Jim Wylie campground close to the bridge at the marina. Back then, the lake was ringed with coves full of buckbrush. We caught so many crappie it wasn't funny, and mostly black ones. Many of the black ones were SO black that they didn't even look like crappie except in shape. Fought like smallmouth!
That fell apart and we stopped going. Years later we went back and found that the COE had lowered the lake often enough that all the buckbrush died, and there was no more shallow water fishing. It's all sunken brushpiles, if you know where they are. The guy at Lakeside Grocery said that the lake would never be back to what it was. Sad stuff, because that was some of the most fun times I ever had.
DP, I can relate to the windy conditions. This has to be one of the windiest spells I can remember. Saturday was the calmest in a while. It only blew 5 to 10 mph right out of the east here. Was'nt real bad till the rain started! Hope you have better conditions next trip. Hollar if ya get this way.

I went to Greeson on the 15th and came home on the 22nd. My wife, son-in-law and I may have caught 20 head altogether. First time I was ever there. Beautiful lake and I know there are fish in it because I saw the guides pictures. Planning another week long trip the last of April. I sure hope the wind lays a bit.
Fish Nest is about the 3rd or 4th best option in Glenwood. For fried fish in this area your best bet is in Murfreesboro at Campbell's.
Sorry you didn't get to do any fishing. Jerry's a good guy & I miss seeing his posts on here.
