Problem was the lake kicked our butts. My oldest is on spring break and asked me to take him to Conway yesterday. Got on the water around 1:00 launching from Dan's place on Gold Creek. Fished up in the pool, creek, and then out on the flat. We quit at 6:00 with one magnum redear and one 11" crappie. Had one other bite and it was a dandy crappie under a dock that came off at the boat. Felt sorry for my boy as he fished hard the whole time and still didn't wanna leave. It was fairly windy and about the coldest 60' I've ever felt lol. The water in the pool was so clear that I could see my jig at the depth I've caught them in there in the past. Being a hard-headed single pole shallow guy it made it beyond tough. Saw several folks casting on the flat, but didn't see much catching.

I fished the main lake this afternoon. Caught 14 in an hr and a half. Average 12" with one right at 2 1/4. All were released.
