New to the site and new to crappie fishing

New to the site and new to crappie fishing. I have always been a big outdoors man for the most part into hunting, I have bass fished and trotlined most of my life and caught crappie on accident most of the time doing one of these two. I wanted a new challenge this year and crappie fishing is it. Been out a few times over last couple weeks but the weather has been crazy 30 degrees one day and 70 the next, it has been hit and miss for the most part. I have seen a lot of wonderfull information on this site that has helped a lot. I normally fish Millwood in SW ARk and grew up on the lake but its a lot diffrent when you never targeted for crappie so if anybody has any great information on how to find them there that is great and thanks in advance.
