    Default Weedless jigs?

What's the best way to make your jigs weedless or stick proof? I have noticed that the crappie I have caught have been in and around trees and stumps. I've only caught crappie with a jig under a cork and lose more jigs then I catch fish. Any suggestions in making them snag free?

I have a neighbor who swears by the single wire weed guards on his jig head. I pefer not to have any kind on mine , just can't help thinking it could get in the way . Just my opinion and he still catches fish so try ya some weed guards.
