Hasn't moved much off of 9 feet high in 36 hours. With no more big rain, the next thing it'll do is fall........not good either. I honestly don't know what this does to the lower launching ramps, like Sunlight Bay. I know Carter Cove, you can launch if it's 30 feet high..........at the high water ramp. But that ain't where I wanna be when it's that high.
I also am ready to go up the river and catch some.............but this lake drives me nuts. COE must hate it as much as I like it.
I went to Piney today for first time.......and with some good instructions on where to go, I caught two!!! Guy told me "wow, a month ago they were limiting out right where your boat is".
Sigh.
Tomorrow I'm going to a Secret Spot. I'll get blown off of it, but I'm going tomorrow even if it hairlips the Pope! Ok, wait.......there ain't no Pope, is there???
Nimrod, I don't know. I have not fished Piney in over 30 years. I went back today to TRY and find a new place to fish. Had some good help from a buddy here, told me where to go, and I did. There are boats all over the place there, doing what I call "strolling".......just easing along fishing real deep. If I could catch 'em like that, I guess I'd enjoy it, even though that's not my cup of tea. But it was dingy, looked to me like. I did try bank fishing on cover, and never got a bite there. That's how I like to fish, but of course, I know you have to adapt.
After tomorrow, if my secret spot peters out, I'm back to going to Nimrod and sitting in the truck watching the water go down enough to launch my boat. It seems to be the only place I can catch any fish....and even there, I don't tear 'em up all the time.
Maybe I ought to take up shuffleboard.
